Back & Middle Office Analyst - Financial Services

About the Role

Our client is a growing advisory firm in Luxembourg, specialising in operational support, compliance and risk within the financial services and insurance sectors. As part of their continued expansion, they are looking for a Back & Middle Office Analyst to join their team and contribute to a wide range of client-facing assignments.

This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with initial experience in operations who is looking to gain exposure across multiple environments, develop a broad skillset, and work on diverse projects within banking and insurance institutions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support financial institutions (insurance and banking) in daily operational activities, including:
    • Cash and tax operations
    • Regulatory reporting
    • Corporate actions
    • Settlements and custody
    • Financial operations and contract administration
  • Assist clients in both business-as-usual activities and project-based work, ensuring accuracy, compliance and adherence to internal processes and deadlines
  • Contribute to the optimisation and improvement of operational processes
  • Work closely with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure high-quality service delivery
  • Adapt quickly to different environments, tools and organisational structures across assignments
  • Support business development initiatives and maintain strong client relationships

Profile & Requirements

Experience & Background

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Back Office and/or Middle Office within financial services
  • Experience in insurance (particularly life insurance) is a strong advantage
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration or a related field

Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency in Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, VBA/macros)
  • Knowledge of SQL for data management is a plus
  • Exposure to Python for automation or analysis is an advantage
  • Familiarity with reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau is a plus
  • General understanding of financial operations and systems

Languages

  • Fluent in French and English (mandatory)
  • Additional languages are considered an asset (Italian, German or Luxembourgish especially)
