About the Opportunity

We are currently supporting a major insurance group in Luxembourg in the search for a Data Governance Consultant to join its central Data function and contribute to several strategic transformation initiatives.

You will work closely with business, IT and data stakeholders on topics related to data governance, data quality, reporting reliability and regulatory data management within a complex and highly regulated insurance environment.

This role is ideal for a consultant who combines a strong understanding of data governance frameworks with a pragmatic, delivery-oriented mindset and the ability to operate in cross-functional environments.


Your Responsibilities

Data Governance & Data Quality

  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the organisation’s data governance framework
  • Contribute to the definition of data ownership, stewardship and governance processes
  • Monitor and improve data quality controls, KPIs and remediation processes
  • Participate in the identification and resolution of data inconsistencies across systems and reporting layers

Business & Regulatory Data Management

  • Work with business and technical stakeholders to ensure consistency and reliability of critical data used for operational and regulatory purposes
  • Support initiatives linked to insurance regulatory reporting, finance and risk data governance
  • Assist with data lineage, traceability and documentation activities
  • Contribute to the formalisation of governance standards, procedures and best practices

Stakeholder Coordination & Delivery

  • Act as a bridge between business teams, IT and data stakeholders
  • Facilitate workshops and follow up on action plans and governance topics
  • Support reporting production and governance-related project streams
  • Contribute to delivery follow-up, prioritisation and issue escalation where needed

Your Profile

Experience

  • Around 3 to 10 years of experience in Data Governance, Data Quality, Regulatory Data or related consulting environments
  • Previous experience within the insurance sector is strongly preferred
  • Exposure to regulated environments (Solvency II, IFRS17, reporting governance, risk/finance data) is considered a strong advantage

Skills

  • Strong understanding of data governance and data quality principles
  • Experience working with business and IT teams in transformation environments
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to structure topics, coordinate stakeholders and deliver in a pragmatic way
  • Comfortable with reporting, documentation and governance processes

Technical Environment (nice to have)

  • SQL
  • Power BI / reporting tools
  • Dataiku
  • Collibra or other governance tools
  • Excel / data reconciliation approaches

Languages

  • French: professional level required
  • English: professional working proficiency
