Data Protection Officer (DPO)
Role Purpose
To provide dedicated, hands-on support to the Data Protection Officer (DPO), ensuring effective delivery of data protection governance activities across the organisation and embedding robust GDPR and data protection controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the creation, review, maintenance, and finalisation of Records of Processing Activities (RoPA).
- Establish, implement, and operationalise a Data Protection Champion Network to promote data protection awareness and accountability across the business.
- Conduct data protection controls and reviews of existing Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), ensuring continued compliance and best practice.
- Support the DPO with day-to-day data protection activities, advice, and operational delivery.
- Ensure clear, consistent, and timely reporting on all assigned deliverables, risks, and issues.
- Manage multiple workstreams autonomously, prioritising tasks to meet agreed deadlines.
Mandatory Skills & Experience
- Strong data protection and GDPR expertise, with practical experience applying regulatory requirements.
- Proven ability to work with a high degree of self-motivation, managing projects and deliverables independently.
- Demonstrated experience providing direct, hands-on support to a Data Protection Officer or equivalent senior stakeholders.
- Strong organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Optional / Desirable Skills
- Professional project management experience.
- Prior experience within financial services, asset management, or the funds industry.
