An established organisation within the financial services sector is looking for an experienced Linux Application Administrator to support and maintain critical business applications that underpin core banking operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex technical issues, working within highly regulated environments, and ensuring the stability, security, and performance of enterprise applications.

• Location: Luxembourg
• Rate: Up to €750 per day
• Duration: 9+ Months
• Start Date: September
• Hybrid Working: Full-time onsite for first 3 months, then 3 days onsite per week

The Role

You'll be responsible for administering, supporting and maintaining business-critical applications running on Linux infrastructure while ensuring high availability, security and compliance.

Working closely with infrastructure teams, software vendors and business stakeholders, you'll troubleshoot production issues, support upgrades and contribute to operational excellence across the application estate.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure and maintain core banking and third-party business applications
• Manage application security, user access, permissions and privileged access controls
• Administer Linux servers supporting enterprise applications
• Investigate and resolve application, middleware and infrastructure issues
• Support application patching, upgrades and scheduled maintenance
• Work with third-party vendors to resolve technical issues and API integrations
• Perform routine system health checks, monitoring and performance analysis
• Maintain audit logs and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
• Support backup, disaster recovery planning and testing
• Participate in change, release and incident management activities following ITIL processes

• Sudo configuration and privilege delegation
• Linux patching and vulnerability remediation
• Bash/Shell scripting
• Python scripting
• Experience supporting enterprise applications hosted on Linux
• Monitoring, logging and troubleshooting tools
• ITIL operational support experience
• Experience working within regulated enterprise environments
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Perl scripting
• Financial Services or Banking experience
• Core Banking application support
