About the Opportunity

Skillfinder International is supporting a leading international financial services organisation on a highly strategic Oracle infrastructure transformation programme.

Our client is embarking on the migration of a critical Oracle database landscape towards Oracle Exadata, whilst maintaining its existing Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment.

This is not a traditional Project Manager assignment.

We are looking for a senior Oracle professional capable of operating at the intersection of technical delivery, programme governance and executive stakeholder management.

The successful consultant will become the trusted interface between the client, Oracle Professional Services and multiple internal technical teams, ensuring the programme progresses smoothly whilst anticipating risks before they become delivery issues.

This assignment requires someone who has already experienced large-scale Oracle infrastructure transformations and understands the complexity of coordinating multiple technical domains throughout an enterprise migration.

The Role

As the Technical Programme Lead, you will oversee the coordination of a complex Oracle infrastructure migration involving multiple workstreams and senior stakeholders.

Rather than delivering the technical implementation yourself, your responsibility will be to ensure every technical stream progresses cohesively, dependencies are managed, governance remains effective and Oracle's delivery teams are challenged where appropriate.

You will facilitate communication between infrastructure, database, cloud, networking, security and DevOps teams, ensuring the right technical experts are engaged at the appropriate stages of the programme.

This role demands both excellent programme leadership and enough technical credibility to understand architectural discussions, identify delivery risks and influence technical decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the governance and coordination of a strategic Oracle Exadata migration programme.
• Act as the primary interface between the client and Oracle Professional Services.
• Build trusted relationships with senior technical stakeholders across the organisation.
• Coordinate technical workshops, steering committees and governance meetings.
• Identify programme risks, technical dependencies and potential migration blockers.
• Ensure infrastructure, networking, security, database and cloud teams remain aligned throughout delivery.
• Challenge technical assumptions where appropriate and facilitate informed decision-making.
• Support planning, execution and reporting across the entire migration lifecycle.
• Maintain programme visibility for both technical and executive stakeholders.
• Ensure lessons learned and best practices are captured throughout the engagement.

Required Experience

This position requires a rare combination of programme leadership and deep Oracle ecosystem knowledge.

You should have previously delivered or coordinated enterprise-scale Oracle infrastructure transformation programmes within complex environments.

Whilst you are not expected to perform hands-on engineering activities, you must possess sufficient technical depth to engage confidently with senior architects, DBAs, infrastructure specialists and Oracle consultants.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal consultant will have previously worked within one or more of the following environments:

• Oracle Corporation
• Oracle Consulting
• Oracle Professional Services
• Oracle Cloud Delivery
• Large System Integrators (Capgemini, Accenture, CGI, IBM Consulting, Atos, Sopra Steria, etc.)
• Enterprise infrastructure transformation programmes within regulated industries

Previous experience working directly alongside Oracle delivery teams would represent a significant advantage.

Existing relationships within Oracle are highly desirable, as effective collaboration and escalation management will be central to the success of the programme.
