A great opportunity has arisen for a Cloud Platform Engineer to join a high-performing technology team working on a major cloud-focused project within the Glasgow/Bournemouth Delivery Unit. This role offers the chance to design and deliver modern cloud solutions that support large-scale, business-critical systems.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Designing, building, testing, and deploying cloud application solutions that integrate both cloud and on-premise infrastructure.

• Deploying infrastructure and platform environments, including creating proof-of-architecture to validate performance, security, and scalability.

• Acting as a subject matter expert while supporting and guiding the wider engineering team.

• Leading technical decisions, collaborating across multiple teams, and contributing to strategic architectural direction.

• Developing innovative cloud solutions that enhance operational efficiency and reliability.

• Working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud services.

• Conducting regular assessments of cloud architecture to identify optimisation opportunities.

• Mentoring junior engineers and fostering a culture of continuous learning.

• Staying up to date with emerging cloud technologies and industry trends.

What We’re Looking For

• Advanced proficiency in Python (P3 – Advanced).

• Strong experience with Kubernetes and AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS).

• Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure and modern cloud-native engineering practices.

• Ability to design and deliver scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to influence decisions across multiple teams.

• A proactive, collaborative mindset with a passion for innovation.
