Why this assignment?

We are supporting a major insurance group in Luxembourg on a high-visibility eTrading initiative and we are looking for a hands-on FIX Protocol specialist to help the business move quickly and safely.

This is a short, focused and impactful mission: you will act as the go-to FIX expert, helping internal teams and brokers align on FIX flows, ensuring successful broker onboarding and certification, and stabilising the integration through log analysis and clear operational guidance.

? Important: This is an insurance environment (regulated, structured, operationally sensitive).
? French is essential: the working language with business teams is primarily French.

What you will deliver

You will support eTrading activities by:

• Making FIX flows understandable and actionable for business teams

• Mapping OMS/EMS workflows into FIX messages and business rules

• Driving broker onboarding and certification (UAT) end-to-end

• Investigating rejects and issues via logs/message traces, and closing them fast

• Producing clear documentation to ensure operational stability

Key Responsibilities

1) FIX Expertise (Functional, Non-Dev)

• Explain the end-to-end order & execution lifecycle in FIX:

  • New Order ? Ack ? Partial Fill ? Fill ? Reject ? Cancel / Replace

• Clarify message types, statuses and business meaning to non-experts

• Ensure interpretation of flows is correct, consistent and shared across teams

2) OMS/EMS ? FIX Functional Mapping

• Build and validate mappings between OMS/EMS processes and FIX messages

• Define mapping rules: tags/fields, validations, statuses, exception handling

• Align Trading, Ops, IT, vendors and brokers on expected outcomes

3) Broker Onboarding & Certification (UAT)

• Run onboarding end-to-end: prerequisites, checklist, UAT plan, certification steps

• Coordinate testing with brokers and internal stakeholders

• Analyse rejects/issues through logs and message traces, drive fixes and sign-off

• Ensure stability and a clean go-live

4) Documentation & Practical Assets

• Lightweight functional specs (clear and usable)

• Test plan + test cases

• Operational runbook (support, incidents, troubleshooting)

What we are looking for

Must-have

• Strong functional FIX Protocol expertise in a buy-side eTrading context

• Solid understanding of OMS/EMS workflows and integration constraints

• Proven broker onboarding / certification / UAT experience

• Comfortable investigating issues using logs and message traces

• Strong stakeholder skills (able to explain FIX clearly to business teams)

• Fluent French is mandatory (working language)

• Experience in a regulated environment, ideally insurance

Nice-to-have

• Professional working English

• Luxembourg market exposure

• Trading Ops / Middle Office background
