Full Stack Java Engineer – Glasgow

A fantastic opportunity has opened for a Full Stack Engineer to join a high-performing technology team working on a major financial services project within the Glasgow/Bournemouth Delivery Unit. This role offers the chance to build end-to-end solutions that directly impact large-scale digital services used across a global organisation.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Designing, developing, and engineering full end-to-end system features, from user interface to backend services.

• Delivering innovative, high-quality solutions that enhance and modernise client services.

• Acting as a subject matter expert while supporting and guiding the wider engineering team.

• Leading technical decisions, collaborating across multiple teams, and contributing to strategic direction.

• Building scalable, efficient software aligned with business and technical requirements.

• Working closely with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.

• Continuously exploring and implementing new technologies to improve development efficiency.

• Participating in code reviews to maintain high standards and share best practices.

• Troubleshooting and optimising applications to ensure strong performance and a seamless user experience.

What We’re Looking For

• Advanced proficiency in Java (P3 – Advanced).

• Strong experience with Spring Boot (intermediate level).

• Solid understanding of Microservices Architecture.

• Proven ability to design and deliver robust, scalable full-stack solutions.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to influence decisions across multiple teams.

• A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and modern engineering practices.
