A leading manufacturing company with a global footprint is looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer – Cloud Application to join their advanced Software Development Center in Zurich. You will play a key role in building a next-generation, cloud-ready platform used to control high-precision laboratory instrumentation and process complex scientific data.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a DevOps team of 10 engineers

• Own and manage the DevOps activity backlog, working closely with project managers

• Collaborate with architects, test automation specialists and development teams

• Design, implement and test deployment strategies for cloud-native applications

• Automate deployment processes for test and production environments

• Select and integrate monitoring and diagnostic tools to ensure performance and reliability

• Provide expert input on system architecture and infrastructure design

• Promote DevOps best practices across teams, including container orchestration and CI/CD

What We’re Looking For

• Degree in Computer Science, IT or a related technical field

• Several years of experience leading technical DevOps or infrastructure teams

• Expertise in Azure DevOps and Infrastructure as Code

• Strong background in deploying and securing containerized systems (Docker, Kubernetes) in cloud and on-prem environments

• Proficiency in scripting or programming (C#, Python, Shell)

• Solid knowledge of Linux, networking, cloud infrastructure and CI/CD processes

• Excellent English communication skills (German is a plus)
