Senior Oracle Database Administrator – Bern (Hybrid) | 80–100%
An exciting opportunity is open for an experienced Oracle DBA to join a cutting-edge IT services environment supporting mission-critical systems in the Swiss insurance sector. This is a hands-on technical role with strong development, architecture, and project influence — ideal for someone passionate about performance, uptime, and continuous improvement.
What You'll Be Doing

Ensuring stable, efficient, and secure operation of Oracle database systems

Monitoring and tuning for performance and high availability

Leading Oracle migration projects and shaping future database architecture

Managing patches and upgrades in live environments
-
Collaborating across projects, occasionally stepping into sub-project lead roles
-
Driving automation of database processes using tools like Ansible and GIT
-
Optimizing key workflows including GoldenGate, backup, snapshots, and duplication
-
Contributing to knowledge transfer by mentoring junior DBAs and apprentices
What You Bring
-
Strong hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA in production environments

Deep technical knowledge of Oracle DB architecture and operations

Proficiency with Linux-based systems

Exposure to technologies such as RAC, Data Guard, ASM, RMAN, Enterprise Manager, or GoldenGate
-
A structured, analytical mindset and a self-driven, reliable approach to work

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid team

Fluency in German and English

Willingness to join an on-call rotation (24/7 support)
