DevOps Engineer – Energy Trading Platform | Hybrid | £(Market Rate) | Long-Term Contract

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to join a high-performing Energy IT team supporting a mission-critical European energy trading platform. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a product that enables continuous cross-border intraday electricity trading, supporting renewable energy integration and enhancing market efficiency across Europe.

You’ll be part of a collaborative, forward-thinking team responsible for both the implementation of a new event-driven architecture and the ongoing operations of a complex SaaS platform deployed across cloud and on-prem environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Full-stack DevOps ownership of two major energy trading products, with a strong focus on implementing a new event-streaming-based architecture.
• Design and implement high-quality automation solutions for business-critical tasks.
• Monitor infrastructure and application metrics using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, OpenSearch/Kibana.
• Collaborate across product-agnostic teams to ensure seamless interdepartmental cooperation.
• Contribute to DevOps initiatives including automation, containerization, and cloud migration.
• Support system administration tasks: patching, tuning, capacity and performance management.
• Participate in on-call rotations (remunerated).

Required Skills & Experience:

• Degree in IT or equivalent experience (5+ years in technical operations of high-criticality environments).
• Strong Linux (RedHat) expertise – RHCSA/RHCE certifications are a plus.
• Proficiency with automation and orchestration tools: Ansible, Terraform, Vault, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Git/GitHub.
• Experience testing IaaC (e.g., Ansible Molecule, Test Kitchen).
• Strong problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills (English B2+).
• Ability to work autonomously and under pressure in a multicultural environment.

Desirable Skills:

• Familiarity with GCP, RabbitMQ, PostgreSQL, Prometheus, OpenSearch, HAProxy.
• Experience with Python, Go, or Java.
• Understanding of Serverless, Microservices, GitOps, and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, CircleCI, Travis).
• Exposure to DevOps, SRE, or Agile working models.
