Capability Owner/Product Owner - Financial Services
- Contract
- Dublin - 3 days a week on site

Role Description:
For a leading financial services client, we are seeking a Product Owner who will serve as the lead partner on the development team /squad. The team is responsible for the oversight and delivery of technical and functional capabilities of a product.
The product owner is the leader of the squad who has the decision-making authority and end to end accountability for delivery of the goals of the squad.
Responsibilities:
- Manages communicated stakeholder expectations on what functionality the product will have and how the product will be released to the end user community.
- Frequently shares the product vision with the team.
- Makes decisions throughout the development of the product and is ultimately the final decision maker on the functionality of the product.
- Defines the user stories for the product, owns product backlog and prioritization of the items in it.
- Elaborate stories, acceptance criteria, embracing lean, test driven development, agile practices.
- Defines and documents the product’s release strategy.
- Sequences user stories based on their contribution to the business’ strategic goals.
- Can change user stories and their sequencing prior to every sprint.
- Leads the team planning during program increment planning sessions.
- Is responsible for the approval of changes to the release plan and sprint plans.
- Decides whether or not to move forward with the product, accepting or rejecting user stories.
- Defect management.
- Responsible for providing status details to the Capability Manager
- Serves as the overall leader of the squad and therefore leads rituals such as daily standup, iteration planning, scoping sessions and retrospectives, along with ensuring any blockers are removed.
- Responsible for the breakdown of new requirements to ensure lean delivery.
- Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals.
- Collaborate and communicate continuously, effectively and directly, with engineers, designers, business stakeholders, BA’s, SME’s and testers.
