Job Title: Senior Data Engineer/Analyst
Location: Prague
Duration: Up to 2 year project

Job Description

Main Purpose of the Role:
• Develop and maintain data analytics solutions, including data pipelines and reporting, leveraging our data lake (Big Data) and relational databases.
• Monitor database jobs and suggest improvements to optimize performance and efficiency.
• Liaise effectively with both business and development teams to ensure alignment of data solutions with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
• ETL/ELT Development: Hand-code data integration processes, with experience in tools like Apache NiFi being a plus.
• Big Data Technology Stack: Utilize a strong command of Big Data technologies, with a significant advantage given to experience with Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery). Responsibilities include job monitoring (e.g., Ambari), performance tuning, and debugging execution plans.
• Query Languages: Proficiency in HiveQL or relational SQL for data manipulation and query execution.
• Scripting: Develop scripts using languages such as BASH, Python, and VBA to automate and streamline data processes.
• BI Reporting: Create and optimize business intelligence reports, with a preference for advanced knowledge or certification in Qlik (data model and Load Script optimization are significant advantages).
Requirements
• Extensive hands-on experience with ETL/ELT processes and tools.
• Strong expertise in Big Data technologies, particularly on the Google Cloud Platform, with a focus on BigQuery.
• Proficiency in database job monitoring, performance tuning, and debugging execution plans.
• Strong command of HiveQL or relational SQL.
• Scripting skills in languages such as BASH, Python, and VBA.
• Advanced knowledge or certification in BI reporting tools, particularly Qlik, is a strong plus.
• Self-starter with the ability to quickly get up to speed and take ownership of projects.
• Attention to detail and open-mindedness to new ideas and approaches.
• Prior experience working in large companies with complex infrastructures and processes.
• Proven ability to interface with multiple cross-border teams and senior stakeholders.
