Lead AI Engineer – Drive Scalable AI Innovation in Brussels (Hybrid | Perm or Freelance)

You’ll work within a high-performing data team to architect and enhance cloud-based AI services used across multiple business units. With a strong focus on performance, scalability, and resilience, you’ll mentor engineers and lead the development of Python-based services that drive real-world impact.

What you’ll be doing:

• Designing and evolving scalable AI and data analytics architecture in the cloud

• Leading initiatives to boost performance and reliability of ML systems and pipelines

• Building Python-based backend services for machine learning and data workloads

• Mentoring engineers and championing best practices in code quality and resilience

Essential Skills:

• Strong Python engineering background

• Hands-on experience with ML frameworks (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow)

• Cloud-native development (preferably AWS)

• Deep understanding of machine learning techniques and model deployment

• Proven track record delivering production-grade AI/data analytics solutions

• Exposure to large language models or graph-based learning approaches

• Advanced degree in a STEM field
