Teradata DBA

Job description:
Data Management has become one of most exciting domains in the financial industry – taking center stage in the way we enable our bank and insurance entities to provide the best possible service and product offer in the digital era.

This domain is undergoing a significant make-over, leading to a transformation in the way we handle and use data.

With the Rainbow program, we are implementing a new platform for Company Management (Company management = the business activities Banks Group and its entities have to execute for running a banking and insurance company, activities like Finance, Risk, Treasury, Tax,
Compliance). To realize this implementation, a Group-wide international program “Rainbow” has been started. Rainbow implemented a new infrastructure. And the base of this data warehouse is Teradata.

We are looking for some extra Teradata dba's to join our team.

Role/Individual:

In the platform team, we are responsible for the technical installation of this new infrastructure and new tools e.g. the setup of all the local tenants and Group tenant, installation of development tools, access management.

We are looking for an extra Informatica system engineer or technical expert to join this project team.
You will be working in a challenging international environment.
You will join the Rainbow BICC Platform team organized in the SIN direction

Tasks of a technical DBA - related to Teradata DB:
House holding, capacity planning,
Performance tuning and support
Security
Backup/restore
Unity follow up to provide DRP
Coordinate and follow up the security and OS patchings done by Teradata
We are looking for a colleague with affinity and experience with database management, able to build up the knowledge wrt Teradata.

Trainings wrt Teradata will be provided.

Needed Qualifications -
Knowledge of database theory and design
* Very good knowledge as a Teradata DBA
• Knowledge of structured query language (SOL)
• General understanding of operating systems eg Linux
• General understanding of storage technologies
• Good experience with maintaining a database production environment. This includes executing
backup-restore activities, capacity planning, performance tuning, patching, troubleshooting ..
• Good knowledge of at least 1 programming language, preferably Python
Experience in the role of Technical OBA with another DB (oracle, DB2, mySQL) is a must

• Able to work independently
• And with good technical insights in DB management
