System Engineer - Leuven, Belgium - Long Term Contract

Our client is hiring a System Engineer to join the Generic Build Team at a leading financial services organisation.

This role is onsite 50% in Leuven, with a contract running until the end of the year and annual rolling extensions.

Fluent English and Dutch speakers are required.

About the Team

Our Generic Build Team manages all tools within the ALM Suite – including Confluence, Jenkins, and BitBucket – and supports the full Continuous Delivery Pipeline (Continuous Exploration, Integration & Deployment).

Key Responsibilities

Tool Management: Maintain and upgrade Jenkins, Bitbucket, Sonar, Nexus, Maven, and more
Innovation: Investigate upgrades, new plug-ins, and features
Support: Provide 3rd-line support, consultancy, and incident resolution
Alignment: Understand client needs and propose solutions
Decommissioning: Lead cleanup of legacy tools across the organisation

What We’re Looking For

Technical Requirements

Proven experience managing Jenkins, Bitbucket, Sonar, Nexus, Maven
Deep knowledge of Atlassian Jira & Confluence
Scripting in Python and Typescript (Perl is a plus)
Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows application servers
Ability to assess, streamline, and retire outdated tools
