Oracle DBA
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Oracle DBA to join our dynamic IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our Oracle database environments, ensuring high performance, availability, and security. The role demands a deep understanding of Oracle databases and the ability to optimize and troubleshoot complex database systems. Experience with Oracle Exadata and Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance (ZDLRA) is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
• Database Administration: Manage and support Oracle database environments, including installation, configuration, upgrades, and patch management.
• Performance Tuning: Optimize database performance through best practices, proactive monitoring, and tuning techniques.
• Backup and Recovery: Implement and manage robust backup and recovery processes using RMAN and Data Guard. Experience with ZDLRA is a plus.
• Security Management: Ensure database security by implementing and maintaining appropriate access controls, encryption, and security patches.
• Capacity Planning: Conduct capacity planning to accommodate future growth and ensure optimal database performance and resource utilization.
• High Availability: Design and implement high-availability solutions, including RAC, Data Guard, and Exadata configurations.
• Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Proactively monitor database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime. Troubleshoot and resolve database-
related issues promptly.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, operational procedures, and incident response protocols.
• Mentoring and Training: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior DBAs and assist in their professional development.
• Collaboration: Work closely with application developers, systems administrators, and other stakeholders to support new and existing projects.
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience as an Oracle DBA.
• Languages: Fluent German and English
Technical Skills:
• Expert knowledge of Oracle Database versions 11g, 12c, 19c, and above.
• Extensive experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, and ASM.
• Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL programming.
• Strong understanding of database security principles and best practices.
• Experience with Oracle Exadata and ZDLRA is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with cloud-based Oracle solutions (OCI) is a plus.
