DevOps Platform Engineer - Private Bank in London

My client is looking for a Platform Engineer with ‘obsessive customer service’ and expertise in a wide array of software, systems, scripts and stacks to lead technical delivery and work closely with teams across the entire business. In this role you will be providing development, configuration and support of the banks applications, collaborating with system engineers, database engineers, architects, software developers and many more.

You will be expected to lead the development and design of automation, configuration, infrastructure and application development scripts as well as creating repeatable and auditable code and configurations to manage and deploy both new and existing applications and servers. As well as this, you will be in charge of maintenance, evolution and the development of the banks automated system, host, application and service level monitoring, logging and alerting systems.

This is not only a technical role, successful candidates must also be able to provide customer service and expertise to groups of all levels within the business alongside leading the development and mentoring of the less senior engineers within the DevOps team to do the same within the business.

We expect you to have:

•Advanced level knowledge of Azure as well as web service architecture experience to expert practitioner level
•Scripting ability across various languages, Java, Javascript, Golang, Powershell, Python, Ruby, Bash, Perl
•The ability to not only work effectively but to deep dive through the full technology stack of OS, Network, Database or Application
•The ability to troubleshoot Grafana, Splunk, Dynatrace, InfluxDB, Prometheus, ElasticSearch, ServiceNow
•Experience of supporting application delivery pipeline patterns and the associated tools, Azure DevOps is essential for this role
•The ability to effectively communicate across the entire organisation, this includes across the different regions of the business
