Depositary Oversight Expert
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Depositary Oversight Expert to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing monitoring and control activities related to depositary oversight, while also leading strategic projects focused on technology implementation, process optimization, and regulatory compliance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine regulatory expertise with innovation in data analytics and AI.
Key Responsibilities- Execute monitoring and control measures outlined in the Depositary Oversight Control Plan across areas such as:
- Asset valuation and NAV calculation
- Subscriptions and redemptions of UCI units/shares
- Compliance with investment decisions and instructions
- Income distribution and timely transaction settlement
- Manage regulatory escalation processes and perform due diligence on UCI service providers (e.g., central administration, external valuer, AIFM/management companies).
- Prepare periodic review reports for management bodies, internal stakeholders, and supervisory authorities.
- Conduct risk, feasibility, and compliance analysis for new depositary mandates or significant changes to existing ones.
- Maintain and update depositary risk assessments for UCIs/sub-funds, ensuring appropriate oversight procedures are applied.
- Monitor regulatory developments and best practices for UCI depositaries to ensure compliance.
- Leverage AI tools and data analytics to enhance monitoring frameworks, identify trends, and improve efficiency.
- Lead projects related to technology implementation, process improvements, and regulatory changes within the depositary function.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Law, or Management.
- Experience: Minimum 7 years in a similar role or related positions (e.g., Fund Accountant, UCI Auditor, Fund Compliance Officer).
- Strong knowledge of UCITS and AIFMD regulatory frameworks and depositary requirements.
- Solid understanding of UCI operations (NAV calculation, subscriptions/redemptions, fund structures).
- Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Expertise in data management tools and AI technologies applied to financial services.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau).
- Familiarity with Avaloq, MultiFonds, and eFront systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on leveraging data and AI for operational improvements.
- Excellent project management and leadership skills.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure, with strong collaboration and team spirit.
