Elasticsearch Stack Developer/Administrator, Luxembourg

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Elasticsearch Stack Developer/Administrator. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, developing, and maintaining Elasticsearch-based solutions, with a deep understanding of data ingestion pipelines, distributed systems, and performance optimization. This role requires a blend of development, administration, and DevOps expertise, with a focus on delivering scalable and efficient search and analytics solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage Elasticsearch clusters and indices for high-performance search and analytics use cases.
  • Develop and maintain data ingestion pipelines using Logstash, Beats, and custom integrations.
  • Monitor and optimize Elasticsearch performance, including indexing, querying, and cluster health.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to integrate Elasticsearch into enterprise systems.
  • Implement security best practices, including role-based access control and data encryption.
  • Create and maintain dashboards and visualizations using Kibana or other tools.
  • Automate deployment and configuration using Ansible, shell scripts, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data ingestion, indexing, and cluster performance.
  • Stay current with Elasticsearch and open-source ecosystem developments.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in IT, with a strong foundation in infrastructure and application development.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Elasticsearch stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana).
  • Proficiency in Java and Python for custom development and scripting.
  • Experience with DevOps tools and practices, including CI/CD pipelines and automation (e.g., Ansible, Jenkins).
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, data modeling, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS (minimum 2 years).
  • Familiarity with shell scripting and Linux system administration.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in agile environments and collaborate across cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Elasticsearch certification(s) (e.g., Elastic Certified Engineer).
  • Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Exposure to other search technologies or big data platforms (e.g., Apache Kafka, Hadoop).
  • Knowledge of security and compliance standards related to data handling.
