Perl Developer
Position Overview
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented IT Developer to join our team and contribute to the delivery and maintenance of critical business applications. This role involves close collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure seamless operations and continuous improvement across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities

Translate business requirements into effective technical solutions for both internal initiatives and client-facing projects.

Oversee the stability and performance of applications already in production.

Identify operational and process enhancements, track system issues, and recommend improvements.

Take part in incident analysis and troubleshooting to resolve issues promptly.

Escalate complex problems when necessary while supporting teammates in resolving technical challenges.

Document procedures, workflows, and application knowledge to strengthen team resources.

Test and validate developed features to maintain high-quality standards.
-
Provide accurate effort estimates for assigned tasks and projects.

Review project specifications and share feedback to refine functional requirements.

Partner with other departments to ensure smooth progress and alignment on active projects.

Liaise with third-party vendors or technical support teams to address and resolve issues when required.
Candidate Profile
-
Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

At least three years of hands-on experience in software development or a comparable IT role.

Strong proficiency in English (French skills are an advantage).

Experience working within a development environment including:

Solid expertise in Perl.
-
Good understanding of shell scripting and Unix-based systems.

Familiarity with Git version control.

Exposure to DevOps practices such as CI/CD pipelines.

Knowledge of print stream formats (e.g., AFP, PostScript, PCL) or print management tools is highly valued.

Experience with document processing tools or OCR/ICR workflows is a plus.

Self-motivated, collaborative, and capable of working independently.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Comfortable prioritizing and delivering results in fast-paced, high-pressure settings.
